The NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) is a government initiative for businesses to receive a generous discount by switching to energy saving LED lighting. It is a financial incentive in the form of an ESC discount. ESC stands for Energy Savings Certificate and they are created through energy saving activities such as an LED lighting upgrade.
The ESC discount applies to LED lighting upgrades in commercial dwellings such as Strata common areas/carparks, hotels, office spaces and warehouses, however it does not apply to residential dwellings. An energy savings certificate is a tradeable commodity and its value fluctuates daily based on supply & demand.
The ESC discount is not to be confused however with a government rebate as it is in fact funded by the community. You may have even noticed this yourself, as a small fee appears on your business electricity bill labelled NSW Energy Savings Scheme.
In order to qualify for the discount, the LED products must be approved by IPART (the regulator and administrator of the scheme) and you must have a licensed electrician install the LED lighting, who is accredited to participate in the NSW ESS and therefore has had the relevant training.
All of our LED lighting products that are included in the ESS are IPART approved to generate Energy Saving Certificates and Easily Green offer the ESC discount at POINT OF SALE on every quote, meaning you only pay the NET cost. They are supplied and installed by an IPART accredited electrician. This is one benefit we have over many other lighting companies, that we can offer this discount to all of our clients at point of sale. It removes the cash flow burden of paying the gross amount, applying for the discount and waiting for your money back.
We trade the ESCs on your behalf which means we also take care of the copious amounts of paperwork involved in applying for the discount.
One exciting product we offer that is eligible for an ESC discount, has gained much attention from our clients as it allows us to offer a very attractive ROI on our quotes. This is due to its ability to dramatically reduce your current energy consumption (up to 90%). This huge energy saving is possible because the LED fittings feature a microwave sensor and dimming capability.
Replacing your outdated existing light fittings with these new highly advanced LED emergency and non-emergency fittings will ensure a long life (huge savings on maintenance) as every component is interchangeable and every component has a specific warranty period. The IP65 fitting base has an extraordinary 10 year warranty.
With current Energy Saving Certificates applied there are generous ROI’s to be achieved.
